This page is in memory of our Pilot Mike Nerandzic who lost his life heroically saving his passengers lives, he kept his airship low enough for his passengers to escape after an accident in which the airships fuel had caught light, knowing too well what would happen when they all got off he remained in position to make sure their escape, the ship became very light and rose sharply trapping him on board.
He was an incredibly brave man for doing that and is remembered as a true Hero.
Below is my little report of my flight earlier in the year with Mike as our Pilot, it was a fantastic flight and he was an amazing pilot.
Our thoughts to his family and friends.

My Flight on the Goodyear Blimp
well the weather was fantastic, the M25 gridlocked and the Goodyear blimp Spirit of safety I looked spectacular, i got my flight, the drive there was difficult, problems with holiday traffic and the like. we arrived on site with about 5 mins to spare, now thats precision for you, i booked in then went to watch the ship, there were about 2 flights in front of me so i waited and made full use of the Goodyear facilities on the site, the food was great, any how the moment arrived and me and fellow airship enthusiast Garry Hodgkinson made for the ship, awaiting the passenger transfer the ground crew kept an eye on the wind and the ship just in case it shifted, we were signalled one off then one on and so on, all belted up and we were ready for the off, the engines roared and once clear of the ground the tail went down and the nose was up, proper blimpin lol. any way we circled the airfield a couple of times diving down then up and then we were off heading for the Thames over London on a beautiful sunny day, what more could you ask for. we also got a view of that old Monster of a road the the M25, almost
gridlocked, over houses and industrial buildings we flew, the pilot pulled the throttle back a little and we slowed, great feeling drifting in the air, anyhow it was time for our return to Damyns hall aerodrome, we came in to land, ground crew came to bring us in, we were down, and awaiting our removal from the ship. when off we had some more pictures and made our way back across the airfield, stopping off at the mast for a couple of pics too, below are all my pictures of the day, the good ones and the bad ones but i decided to add them all, video should be up a bit later today.
hope you like them.
